What to do if I can't open my XMind files?

When attempting to open an XMind file on your computer, an error message stating “Sorry, failed to load contents from this file.“ Try the suggestions below to troubleshoot this problem.

Black Box

XMind 2013 v3.4.1 and later support the Black Box feature (Window > Black Box), please try to find a backup file first if you encounter the “File not open“ error.

Update to the latest version

If you’re not using the latest XMind version, we highly recommend you download it from XMind’s website.

Email us

If you still can’t open the file, please send the .xmind file to support@xmind.net. Our developers will try to repair the corrupted file and send it back.
