Magic Keyboard tab key doesn’t insert child topic

I use my iPad Pro a lot, and I can’t find any way to make XMind for iOS respect its own stated shortcuts. On any other platform (I’m a subscriber who uses it on Windows and macOS as well), I can simply hit the tab key to insert a new child topic. The iOS app’s help indicates this is the correct key to insert a new child topic in the iOS version as well. But when I hit the tab key on my Apple Magic Keyboard, it changes the focus to the next UI element. It does not insert a new child topic, and I can’t find any way to do that from the keyboard, which is driving me a little crazy. Is there any way to make this work? Thanks.
