How do you control the direction of a new topic?

As the picture shows, when adding a new topic(Main Topic 5) after the Main Topic 1, the Main Topic 5 was added to the right of Main Topic 1. But what if I wanna add a topic under the Main Topic 1? Can I control the direction of the new topic?
