Pasting into outline - indentation not preserved

Hi All, 

just purchased a xmind subscription - my primary usecase is to quickly set up a structure in a text editor / word / whatever with simple tabular indentation (using TAB key) and be able to paste that into xmind to have a mindmap generated. Ideally this should be bi-directional.

So I cannot get that to work. Is this possible at all? 
If not I think that's where the journey for me & our team ends for xmind :/
