Documented limit of topics?

I purchased Xmind: Zen due to its "better" handling of larger files than Xmind Pro (which is odd). I use it to visualize XML data hierarchies. But depending on the size of the file and number of topics the topics are shown on the map but are visually disconnected from the higher lever topics.

Is there a document limit for topics?

Is there really a reason that the devs can't address this? Why should there be a limit to topics?

Heck, this isn't 3D modelling.

So far, the machine this is being performed on doesn't change anything. High-spec, low-spec... nothing changes the final render.

  I would be interested to know the outcome of this.  As far as I can tell, files around the 275MB to the 330MB mark run into exponentially suffering from the program crashing during saving.  You can force quit, I wait some time (10 mins) and use task manager to restart.  The file thankfully is never corrupted and nothing is lost but diminishing returns... I use open source software such as LibreOffice.  Their version of Powerpoint, "Impress", allows you to right click, crop and compress images.  A huge presentation of 560MB (the threshold for Impress) can be reduced down with the images to 230MB easy.  Some sort of tool for image conversion would be insane.  As the software I use is opensource technically you can duplicate their code and model. 
  
  Also some sort of gauge for overall app resources being maxed is a good idea.  High level visual organisation requires intense maps.
