Default mind map or sidebar showing all mind maps

I love Xmind. However the opening screen with the templates is sort of a nuisance. 

Would it be possible in the preferences to setup a default mind map? I'm using one mind map as a menu to all the others. 

A great alternative would be a sidebar that would show all mind maps and allow quick access to them.
