Feature Request: More Control over Expanding/Collapsing Layers
I would recommend that rather than just having the Expand/Collapse All available - also to allow expanding by layer number or at least have a button that expands/collapses 1 level at a time.
This way you can "reset" a map to a default presentation. With as much detail laid out at the start. And then open and close further layers as you "work through" the map. Rather than only being limited to the extremes of all open (maximum info) or all closed (minimum info).

Collapse / Expand by HIERARCHY LEVEL:
I have studied 22 outliner & project manager apps, and none of them do this.
The human mind is constantly zooming into and out of thoughts.Sometimes we only want to think about thoughts from a high level, sometimes we want to drill into a few thoughts at moderate detail at a given time, while sometimes, we want to drill right into one single thought and all its detail. But in ALL cases we want to always retain the ability to QUICKLY drill into and out of another thought. An outliner app should be able to do the same, effortlessly and QUICKLY.
None of the roughly 22+ top outliner apps I have researched, have the ability to do this. Some don’t even have the basic expand / collapse all.
The only app that did expanded / collapsed all, to a given level of your choice, was the now defunked old version of Apple Pages, which contained an outline mode within. This is the only missing feature that stops me from getting the paid version.
SUMMARY
1. collapse/expand all text blocks as per an outliner app
2. collapse/expand to a desired level only, example
3. A quick way to implement collapsing/expanding to a desired level.On desktop, best way this can be done is via SHORTCUT key, each press of shortcut key zoom in/out to a deeper level
On desktop trackpad, pinch in/out gesture can zoom in/out to the desired level. This can also done for iOS devices.
We should also have HOTKEYS to view desired level. So if you want to see only up to level 4, we wont need to hit the shortcut key 4 times to reach the 4th level of detail view.

If we hit SHORTCUT key once, we see

If we hit SHORTCUT key TWICE, we see

If we hit defined HOT key we can get to see, example level 2 immediately without needing to hit shortcut button twice to see level 2
The above should all work in reverse when collapsing items.
